A fresh and clean wetsuit rinse
There's no denying it. Wetsuits can smell funky, and usually, it's because they haven't been rinsed or dried correctly.
Every once in a while, I'll throw my wetsuits in a large tub of fresh warm water (not hot) along with a small squirt of gentle and natural dishwashing liquid. Next, I add about 5-10 drops of eucalyptus or tea tree essential oil for the anti-bacterial and odour removing qualities. I'll swish them around for a bit, then leave them to soak for at least half an hour. Lastly, rinse each wetsuit in freshwater, then hang on a wide hanger, and dry inside out, naturally. The same goes for booties - these especially.
Ps: The sun and heat can cause neoprene to age quicker and lose elasticity. This is also why it's best to only rinse wetsuits in lukewarm or cold water.
How do you keep your wetsuits smelling fresh? would love to hear!
